Carers provide personal care and other assistance to children, young people and adults who need extra support. There are a lots of different roles in care, including at entry level as well as jobs such as activity coordinators, administrators or catering assistants which are just as vital in providing excellent quality care. Why work in social care?

Working in care is incredibly rewarding and you can really make a difference to the quality of someone else’s life. It can be challenging but you’ll be given the support and training you need, and there’s benefits such as key worker discounts.

Care work is flexible and family-friendly with temporary, part-time or full-time roles available. You don’t always need qualifications or experience as you can train on the job – with opportunities to develop your career if that’s what you want.

Some social care is provided by councils but most is delivered by voluntary or private care providers such as care homes.
